POTSDAM -- Sina Lufkin of Potsdam, a member of Northern TRIBS swimming, recently qualified for the Adirondack All Star Zone Team during the Adirondack Long Course Championship at Colgate University in Hamilton.

With that distinction, Sina will compete Aug. 5 through 8 in the 2015 Eastern Zone Age Group Long Course Championship in Richmond, Va., at the Collegiate School Aquatics Center, which houses what was the 2008 US Olympic Trials pool.

Results from the Adirondack Long Course Championship can be found at www.goTRIBS.org/meets.

The All Star Team will compete against 11 other swimming organization in the Eastern Zone of USA Swimming. Sina will compete in six individual events plus three relays: 50-meter butterfly, backstroke and breaststroke, 100-meter butterfly, 200 and 400-meter freestyle events including the 200-meter medley relay, and the 200 and 400-meter freestyle relays.

Northern TRIBS Swimming Head Coach Joshua Jock will be joining Sina as a coach of the Adirondack Zone Team. This will be Coach Jock’s first time in such an elite level of competition.

Jock has coached three previous TRIBS members to this level, most recently Sina’s older brother, Leon, who made the Adirondack Short Course All Star Team in March of 2015. NTS is the only USA Swimming club serving Franklin and St. Lawrence counties and will soon open registration for their fall and winter short course season, which is expected to run from mid-September through mid-March.
