First-years Brian Beyerbach and Steph Nicols led the St. Lawrence University Nordic Ski team in the men's and women's freestyle events on day two of the Middlebury College Carnival at the Rickert Touring Center in Middlebury, Vermont on Saturday afternoon.
Beyerbach skied the men's 10-kilometer freestyle course in 24 minutes and 1.0 second to earn 26th place and a team-best 19 points for the Saints.
Steph Nicols led the women's squad with a 32nd-place finish in the 5-kilometer freestyle. Nicols completed the course in 14:32.2 and earned 17 points.
Lucy Hochschartner finished just two seconds behind Nicols in 33rd place, earning 16 points.
The women's squad wrapped up the 5-kilometer freestyle in ninth place, while the men finished the 10-kilometer freestyle in 10th place.
