With the 300th program win in the rearview mirror, the third-ranked Clarkson University Women's Hockey team kept rolling as the Golden Knights dominated Union 3-1 on Saturday afternoon in Schenectady.

Clarkson is now a dominant 20-4-4 overall this season and 14-1-1 in ECAC Hockey. Union on the other hand, has struggled to a 4-23-1 overall record and a 1-14-1 conference mark.

Clarkson came into the game expecting to dominate Union, but the Dutchwomen played the Golden Knights close through the first 39 minutes. However, at that point, Clarkson's quality began to shine through. Co-captain Cayley Mercer bagged the first goal with just 33 seconds remaining in the second period to finally separate Clarkson from Union. Co-captain Savannah Harmon had the assist on the goal.

Clarkson kept its momentum going in the third period. Ella Shelton nabbed a power-play goal 8:58 into the third period to extend Clarkson's lead. Harmon and assistant captain Genevieve Bannon set her up on the score. The Green and Gold added another goal 13:03 into the third when Mercer tallied a power-play goal. Freshmen Shelton and Michaela Pejzlova set up Mercer on the goal.

Union made a brief run at Clarkson with a goal at 19:23. It was Emily Erickson who scored for the Dutchwomen, after Union had already pulled its goaltender. That was all the scoring for Union though, as Clarkson came out winners and stayed atop the standings.

Clarkson finished with a 48-19 advantage in shots. Clarkson was 2-6 on power-plays, but shut down Union on all four of its extra man opportunities. Shea Tiley finished with 18 saves for Clarkson, while Kate Spooner had 45 stops for the Dutchwomen.

Clarkson will return to action next weekend, with tests against Dartmouth and Harvard in Cheel Arena.
