Freshmen Felix Abongo (Beacon, NY) and Ashley Loggins (Albany, NY) ended their first seasons in style as each was named Liberty League Rookie of the Week for the Clarkson University Men's and Women's Basketball teams on Monday.

Abongo gained the notice for the first time in 2012-13, averaging 15.0 points per game in a 2-1 week. In a win over Skidmore, Abongo had 14 points and three rebounds and then added 15 points and four rebounds in a loss to first-place Hobart. He finished off the campaign with 16 points, five rebounds, and six assists in a win over RIT.

For the season, Abongo averaged 9.8 points per game and 5.2 rebounds per game, both ranking in the top 25 in the conference. He also placed 14th in field goal percentage (46.1%) and was eighth in both assists (2.6 apg) and blocks (0.6 bpg).

Winning Rookie of the Week is nothing new for Loggins, who has been chosen for the award on four separate occasions in 2012-13. In three games, she averaged 18.7 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 4.3 assists while shooting 47.7% from the floor. She had 20 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Skidmore, her 15th double-double of the year, and then added 13 points and six rebounds against William Smith before compiling 23 points and seven boards against RIT.

Overall, Loggins averaged 17.4 points per game (third in the Liberty League) and 10.3 rebounds (second in the conference). In league games only, she posted 18.2 points and 10.4 rebounds per game.

Sophomore John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) also was chosen to the Liberty League Honor Roll for the men's team, averaging 19.7 points per game while shooting 62.5% from the field over the course of three games.
