POTSDAM, N.Y.—The SUNY Potsdam volleyball and women's soccer teams will be holding cancer and mental health awareness games tomorrow, October 10 and Friday, October 19.
Tomorrow's home volleyball match against St. Lawrence University will serve both causes. The Bears will be wearing both pink and green. The team is requesting donations for Denise Tutor, who is battling breast cancer.
At the women's soccer match against Buffalo State on the 19th, peer counselors from the SUNY Potsdam Counseling Center will have a table set up to provide information. Fans will also be able to meet either Tahoe or Orion, the center's therapy dogs. The peer counselors now have hours during evenings and weekends. The formal hours to visit with the dogs during the week are 12-1:30 p.m. and 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Tomorrow's volleyball contest against the Saints starts at 7 p.m. The soccer game against the Bengals begins at 4 p.m. a week from Friday.
