A balanced offensive attack, with 12 different goal scorers led the St. Lawrence University men's lacrosse to a 16-5 win over Vassar in Liberty League action on Saturday afternoon at the University of Tampa in Tampa, Florida.

The Saints improved to 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in Liberty League play with their first conference win over the Brewers. Vassar fell to 2-4 and 0-1.

Junior Mike Donnelly led the Scarlet and Brown with three goals and an assist, while Harrison Koch added two goals and an assist and Alex Mapstone scored two goals. Kyle Gagne, Jack Hennessey and Mark Mahoney all notched one goal and an assist for the Saints, while Ben Murtagh, Sam Martin, Peter Koch, David Jennings, Guthrie Little and Brian Cunningham each recorded one. Murtagh, Mahoney and Little all notched their first collegiate goals in today's win. Zachary Prime led the Saints at the faceoff dot going 9-for-18 and picking up four ground balls, while Tyler Burns caused four turnovers.

Vassar tallied two goals in the first six minutes of play, but were followed up by three goals from the Saints, who took a 3-2 lead heading into the second quarter with a goal from Jennings with five seconds to remaining to take the lead.

Kyle Cherry opened scoring in the second quarter to tie the game 3-3, but the Saints tallied seven straight to take a 10-7 lead. Vassar saw two more goals from Michael Mullen and Nick Diamond, but St. Lawrence added six more down the stretch securing the win.

"I thought Vassar came out ready to go and battled hard early, which is what you would expect in a conference game," said head coach Mike Mahoney '93 P'22. "Fortunately, we were able to wear them down a bit with our depth and it was nice to see a lot of offensive balance on the stat sheet."

Diamond led the Brewers with a goal and an assist, while Mullin, Tomas Meade, Michael Killion and Kyle Cherry all scored once. Matthew Lowery led Vassar at the faceoff dot going 13-for-23 and recorded a team-best six ground balls.
