Oswegatchie man faces two felonies for allegedly violating order of protection

CANTON — An Oswegatchie man was charged Monday with violating an order of protection at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies allege that on Aug. 2 Jacob R. Brabant, 35, contacted a protected party of a no contact order of protection. He was reportedly an inmate at the time.

Brabant was charged with first-degree criminal contempt, felony, and aggravated family offense, felony, officers said.

He was ordered held without bail and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date, deputies said.
