POTSDAM -- Kevin Swanson, 58, Rochester, was charged by Potsdam police early Sunday with felony driving while intoxicated.

Village police said they arrested him on Waverly Street at 12:52 a.m. after a patrol observed him make an improper turn from a parking lot onto Market Street.

They said Swanson was found to be intoxicated and was transported to the police department where a test showed his blood alcohol level to be at .14 percent. The threshold for a DWI charge is .08 percent.

Police said they also determined that his state driver's license was suspended and had expired.

He was charged with making an improper right turn, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, operating out of an ignition interlock restriction, and felony DWI.

He is to appear in Potsdam Town Court July 10.
