POTSDAM – Neal Zirn of Canton was installed as the 2010-2011 president of the Rotary Club of Potsdam at its annual dinner meeting on June 30.
Rotary District 7040 2009-2010 District Governor Arnold Lawrence performed the ceremony, during which Lowell Warner was recognized as incoming president-elect and Debora Moschell as outgoing president.
Zirn was born and raised in the Bronx where he graduated from DeWitt Clinton High School. He has a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and a master's in liberal studies from SUNY Empire State College.
He is a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic and has practiced chiropractic in the North Country for 27 years.
Zirn has served on the board of the Potsdam Chamber of Commerce and the Gibson Gallery.
He is an exhibiting artist and printmaker and has won both first and second prizes in the WCNY Art Auction. Zirn is also a writer of poetry, short fiction, and essays, and has been published in numerous journals in the United States and Canada.
The Potsdam Rotary Club meets each Wednesday at noon at Julian's in Potsdam. Guests are welcome.
