To the Editor:
The Potsdam Junior Hockey Association will again host the Christian House Memorial Tourney on Thanksgiving weekend. We would like to thank the many people and organizations for their contributions to last year’s tournament who helped make it such a success. The tournament would not have been possible the last two years without their help and contributions.
Three young local youths were sent to ADA Camp Aspire in Rush in July. The camp is for children with Juvenile Diabetes so they can learn to manage their own care and have fun just being kids. All said they had a wonderful time.
This year’s tournament will be sending two or more children to the camp and will also be giving generously to local charities. The teams and their families who come to the Potsdam area will be spending three days here, supporting our local restaurants, hotels and recreational attractions. We are expecting at least 20 hockey teams in Potsdam for the weekend and hope it will be an even bigger success than last year.
We are asking local businesses and organizations to sponsor this tournament by donating funds for the t-shirts to be given out to every participating youth. Your logo will be on the back of the t-shirt. All funds raised over and above the total cost of the t-shirts go to the charity fund.
If you wish to donate and have not been contacted directly, please call Laurie House at 265-8349.
Thank you in advance for your generosity.
Kevin Regan and Laurie House, co-chairmen, Christian House Memorial Tourney
