St. Lawrence County Historical Association seeks donations during COVID-19 pandemic

It has been a while since I have last communicated with you. I hope this finds you safe and healthy and sheltered comfortably. The Silas Wright House has been closed since March and perhaps the only activities there involve the ghosts of Silas and Clarisa Wright.

The staff has received the regular pay as they shelter at home and work remotely. It is a difficult time with new and cumbersome problems, but we are working through it. The first “opening up” for NY started this Friday, May 15th. We are the last scheduled to “open up” much later ...possibly mid to late summer.

Although the pace of activity has slowed and we have had to cancel our Antique and Artisan Show/Sale and the Book Sale held during Diary Princess Weekend, we still face our normal obligations. I am asking if you could remember us with a donation at this time. The normal everyday expenses (operational costs), which are heat, lights, etc. and separately, our Endowment Campaign need your support. Please be clear where you would like your donation to go, to operational costs or to the Endowment Campaign.

Donations may be submitted by check (please make check payable to SLCHA) and mail to SLCHA, P.O. Box 8, Canton, NY 13617 or visit our website at www.slcha.org and click on the Donate button.

Thank you for your continued support and stay safe.

Looking to a better summer for all,

Lance W Rudiger

SLCHA Board president
