This year our Perennial Plant Annual Fundraiser again joined the “Strut Your Mutt" event on May 4th at the Sandstone Arena, Potsdam, as organized by the Potsdam Humane Society staff.

The proceeds of the sale have been split again this year. $750 was donated to the Potsdam Humane Society for the care and comfort of the dogs and cats under their care. This donation is made in memory of Dorothy Cole, a long time active member of the Clarkson Garden Club.$150 was donated to fill the downtown planters and the Gazebo with flowers, as organized by Lou Ann Lange.

The Clarkson Garden Club would like to thank Kevin and Jennifer Blanchard of Willow Tree Florists for their donation of a lovely Northern Gold Forsythia shrub for a raffle prize. It was won by Shirley Metcalf of Potsdam.

In addition, we would like to thank Daryl Kolanko of Potsdam Agway for the donation of 3 flats of annuals: Panola Baby Boy Mix purple and white Pansies, Montego Purple Snapdragons, and Obsession Verbena. Lots of club members and local residents took part in digging perennials, starting seeds and helping setting up the event.

Also thanks go to the Dilger Brothers who helped transport tables from the library to the arena and back.
