The members of Massena’s St. Vincent de Paul Society wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the entire community for your support of our 2019 Christmas Program. Your generosity enabled us to provide food to 377 families and gifts to 542 children ensuring a brighter holiday for those in need.

Thanks to all those who provided financial support, purchased gifts for the children through the Angel Trees and by adopting families. We are so grateful to those who volunteered their time to wrap gifts, pack food boxes and assist with our distribution. We thank the Massena Volunteer Fire Department, the Massena Recreation Commission and St. Peter’s Parish for loaning us tables; Massena Central School District Teachers, parishioners of St. John’s Episcopal Church and St. Peter’s Parish, and employees of Massena Memorial Hospital, Liberty Utilities and 4th Coast Jeeps who purchased gifts for the children of families served; the Knights of Columbus for their Coats for Kids donation; Arconic for the donation turkeys and Action Grant funding; the AmVets, AmVets Ladies Auxiliary and Sons of AMVETS, Marine Corps League and Marine Corps Auxiliary, NYPA, Walmart, St. Lawrence Valley Veterinary, Dr. Edmund Zysik, Blue Spruce Motel, Snider & Snider, Twin Rivers FCU, Hindsight Records, Hoot Owl Enterprises, Italian Affair, Donaldson Funeral Home, Phillips Memorial Home, Italian American Club and Italian American Ladies Wednesday Night Dinner, MX Petroleum, Orlando Chiropractic, Lodge of the Moose, Massena Elks, Massena Rotary Club, Grace United Methodist Church, Massena Central Choir Department, and Massena Volunteer Fire Department for their financial support.

We are most grateful to those who responded to our Christmas Letter with donations and offers to volunteer. And we appreciate the staff and patrons of the Massena Public Library for their huge donation of toys collected during their Toy Drive. Every donation enabled us to make Christmas merrier for those in our community.

Our gratitude is extended to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol Agents Andrew Lawall, Alan Major, Kenneth Rosario, Nicholas Jock and Mike Boyea; New York State Police Officers Prashaw and Burke; and Arconic’s Steve Rombough, Heather Cockayne, Steve Labarge and Tim Long for assistance with deliveries. And we thank Pizza Hut, Tim Hortons, and Subway for providing food for our volunteers as well as Alex’s Icehouse and Big Racquette Inc. for help with storage and transportation of supplies, food and gifts.

Without the generosity of Massena Central Boys Basketball Teams, Link Crew, Interact Club and Boys Hockey Team who moved food, gifts and supplies and April Charleson and her LOOP ladies who sorted produce and packed food boxes our program wouldn’t have run as smoothly as it did. Thank you to the Courier-Observer, WMSA and North Country Now and North Country This Week for advertising and communicating information about our program.

And a huge thank you is extended to the St. Lawrence Centre mall for the use of space in order to organize and distribute food and gifts to the 377 families who applied for our Christmas program.

The St. Vincent DePaul 2019 Christmas Program was successful because of all those who gave so selflessly of their time, talent and treasure. May God bless you all in 2020 and beyond.
