The events in Sri Lanka are abhorrent. Those who committed them are cowards and do not represent anyone but their own criminal enterprise.
In Islam, there is an unequivocal ban on killing innocent lives. Innocent lives include women, children, the elderly, the wage earners, the disabled, and any occupant of a church, synagogue, or temple, anyone who is not actively engaged in combat, those who surrender, and any livestock. Islam’s rules go beyond that to prohibit, utterly, mutilating bodies of the fallen.
These criminals have checked every single box on the things they cannot, must not do by perpetrating their heinous act.
We do not know what really motivates these people, but one thing we are sure about is that they do not represent us.
Our sincere sympathy to the affected families, to all of Sri Lanka, and our prayers for Mercy on our human race.
