Opinion: MMH Board of Managers thankful for support following hospital vote

Thanksgiving is an invitation to rededicate ourselves in our own special way that could make a difference to the most vulnerable members of our communities. On behalf of the Massena Memorial Hospital Board of Managers, I would like to express our gratitude to the people of Massena who supported the Proposition #1 Referendum for our community hospital to move forward in rebuilding a better tomorrow.

We are thrilled the people of Massena have overwhelmingly approved the referendum. The strong support from the community allows us to move forward with the important and essential work of bringing Massena Memorial into the St. Lawrence system and preserving access to high-quality health care for the people of Massena for decades to come. This would not be possible if it was not for the amazing support of all our employees and community.

This community hospital has been a vital part of our community since 1952. This is the another step to ensure that it remains so in the future. These are challenging times. I want to thank each of you for your commitment to this hospital and this community.

So, at a time when we traditionally give thanks, allow me—on behalf of our board—to thank the employees you for their hard work to help keep our community healthy and to extend best wishes for a wonderful holiday season.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Loretta Perez

MMH Board of Managers Chair
