Opinion: If I don’t hear from you, then don’t expect my vote, says Lawrence woman

This is to all who are running for Office in the Town Of Lawrence, I do not wish to go through the fun I had last year trying to figure out who I should vote for since I did not know a lot of you running for office. Just because you may have had a last name of someone I knew did not mean I knew you and just having a sign out did not help.

I want to see who is running. I want to know why I should vote and not because so-and-so in town knows you. Hanging out in the store or at the diner is not going to cut it, I do not get to those places very often.

So if you want my vote (and maybe a few others) you have a choice. You can either stop at my house and tell me why you think you are the right choice for the job or write your reasons down. I will make it easy, you can put in a ziplock bag and drop in my recycling container its the brown one, so if it is raining it will not get wet if the wind is blowing it will not blow away.

Do not put in the mail box the government seems to frown on that sort of thing. Or, if you're out and about I am normally at the museum across from the town office from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. If a red car is there then I am too.

If this is to hard then maybe you and a few others who want to run for the same office should have an old fashion meet-and-greet so people have a chance to see you, talk to you and you can explain why you are the one to be in office.

Just know if I do not hear from you in some way do not expect my vote.
