Amazing Race Claxton-Hepburn fundraiser benefits HEART Committee

Posted

The CHMC Heart Committee and CHMC Foundation would like to thank everyone who donated time, energy, and money to our inaugural Amazing Race Claxton-Hepburn fundraiser to benefit the HEART Committee. Seven teams competed on Saturday, September 21, for a grand prize of $1,000.

The Amazing Race Claxton-Hepburn guided contestants around Ogdensburg using a series of clues to lead them to their locations. At each location, teams were tasked with a variety of mental and physical challenges that had to be completed before they could venture to the next location. After a series of elimination rounds, four teams went on to the final challenge, but only one took home the grand prize: winners Jamieka Rowe and Ken Stull. A second place prize of $750 went to Heather LeClair and Shannon LeClair, and a third place prize of $500 went to David Ferris and Julie Smithers.

Several challenges were sponsored and staffed by local businesses; we’d like to thank:Presenting sponsors Dr. Thomas Herzog and St. Lawrence Surgery. Fast Forward sponsors Collins-Hammond Electrical Contractors and The Law Office of Marcia L. LeMay.

Pitstop sponsors Enbridge, Patricia Mahoney Family & Cosmetic Dentistry and Nadine’s Ice Cream. Friends of the Race Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort, Lions Club of Ogdensburg and William Harper Construction, LLC.

Roadblock sponsors CHMC Auxiliary, Center for Sight, Dr. Michael Oakley, First Baptist Church, Hosmer’s Marina, Fort La Presentation, Lions Club of Ogdensburg, The Remington Art Museum, The City of Ogdensburg, Ogdensburg Public Library, St. Lawrence Federal Credit Union, Ogdensburg Police Department and Ogdensburg Volunteer Rescue Squad

This event would have been impossible without the help of our event volunteers, many who gave their whole day to oversee challenges and cheer on our racers. And lastly, we would like to thank our amazing racers, whom supported their community, and each other, with their participation.
