MASSENA -- New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) Environmental Conservation Police Officers (ECOs) in St. Lawrence County partnered with the Borderline Longbeards Chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) to offer youth ages 12 to 15 the opportunity to hunt turkey in April.
The Massena Rod and Gun Club hosted the event.
Mentors and parents volunteered their time to hunt with the kids.
The youth turkey hunt is free to participants thanks to the St. Lawrence County Sportsmen Federation, Larry’s Taxidermy Studio, Potsdam Elks Club, Wal-Mart and Tractor Supply donating resources to the event.
