POTSDAM -- The Rev. Brooke Newell, left, pastor of the Potsdam United Methodist Church, was honored recently by the New York State Council of Churches at a meeting in Albany.
Presenting the award for social justice Christian education wass the Rev. Peter Cook, executive director of the Council.
The award is in recognition of Newell’s ecumenical work, including working with youth and adults on issues of peace, the environment, racism, fair trade, and the welfare of children.
