OGDENSBURG -- The Greater Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce's February BOCES Student of the Month is Alford (Fred) Lawton, a senior from Lisbon Central School District. Alford is a student in the BOCES Metalworking Program.
“Mr. Lawton is always willing to take on projects doing the best job he can using skills and techniques,” said Jon Hughes, Metalworking Program Instructor at BOCE. “He continues to practice and push to pass the DOT structural welding test. On a very consistent basis he is always last cleaning and maintaining shop.”
Lawton plans to be self-employed in the welding field while continuing his education.
He received a certificate from BOCES, a Chamber Dollars check sponsored by Jones Insurance Agency and a plaque from the Ogdensburg Chamber of Commerce.
