Norwood-Norfolk Central School selects April High School Students of the Month

NORWOOD -- Norwood-Norfolk Central School staff have chosen their High School Students of the Month for April, based on their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

• Catherine Phippen, freshman. She is the daughter of Kimberly and Steven Phippen. Catherine’s interests include playing piano, doing makeup, and cooking. She participates in track and field, Bel Aires, and Key Club. Catherine plans to become a hairdresser after she graduates. She is passionate about cosmetics and would like to create her own product someday.

• Kaleb Devlin, sophomore. He is the son of Justin and Jodie Addison. Kaleb’s interests include video games and writing. Kaleb says, “I like writing and telling stories.” He says that he doesn’t participate in many programs and is not really into sports, but he does well regardless. He aspires to go to college and to have his books published.

• Nichalos Burke, junior. He is the son of Anson and Tammy Burke. Nichalos’s interests include playing basketball and spending time with family and friends. Nichalos participates in varsity soccer, basketball, and track. He is also a member of Varsity Club, National Honor Society and Band. After high school he plans to go to college at SUNY Canton for I.T. in pursuit of a career in the I.T. field.

• Coryn Young, senior. She is the daughter of Chad and Tonya Young. Coryn enjoys sports. She plays varsity hockey, soccer, and runs track and field. She is also a member of National Honor Society and Varsity Club. In the fall, she plans to attend North Country Community College, majoring in health science. She also plans to play soccer at NCCC.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA solicits gift cards from local businesses for each student. Donors were the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths in Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House in Norwood.

The Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
