Norwood-Norfolk picks High School Students of the Month for December

NORWOOD -- The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School has selected the High School Students of the Month for December. These students are selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and throughout the community.

• Robert Voss, freshman, the son of Robert and Meaghan Voss of Norwood. He is interested in most sports. His favorite is hockey but also likes football and baseball. He plays on the hockey, baseball and football teams. Robert’s plan is to continue to play sports and to attend college.

• Nico Sweeney, sophomore, the daughter of Christopher and Ginger Sweeney of Norwood. Her interests include photography, painting, drawing, politics and intersectional feminism. Nico is involved in school activities including photography, and the musical. She is also a member of Key Club. Nico’s plan is to finish high school and to attend an art school.

• Sydney Levison, junior, the daughter of Lisa and Ted Levison of Norwood. Sydney enjoys running, baking, and watching movies. She is a member of the Whiz Quiz team, Varsity Club and National Honor Society. Sydney runs cross country, indoor track and outdoor track. She also is in Bel-Aires and will be in the musical. She plans to go attend college to study in the science field. She also plans to run in college.

• Sicilia Kahrs, senior, the daughter of Ed Kahrs and Marcy Smutz of Norwood. Sicilia enjoys art, sports, hanging with friends and spending time with family. She is a member of National Honor Society, Key Club, Stage Crew, Drama Club, Yearbook, and Art Club. She plays on the varsity soccer and varsity softball teams. Upon completion of high school she plans to attend SUNY Potsdam and become an art teacher.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA is grateful to donors of gift cards given to the students, the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

Also, the Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
