LATHAM -- Two North Country men serving in the New York Army National Guard were promoted recently in recognition of their capabilities and readiness for additional responsibility and leadership.
Major General Patrick A. Murphy, the Adjutant General for the State of New York, announced the promotion of two North Country members of the National Guard.
William Butterfield, Heuvelton, who serves with Company B (Maintenance), 427th Brigade Support Battalion was promoted to the rank of Specialist.
Matthew Kron, Hammond, who serves with the 107th Military Police Company was promoted to the rank of Private First Class.
Army National Guard promotions are based on overall performance, attitude, leadership ability, and development potential.
