NNCS names High School Students of Month

NORWOOD -- The staff at Norwood-Norfolk Central School has announced the Students of the Month for October, selected for their academic achievements, integrity and leadership in the school and the community.

• Logan LaFleur, freshman, is the son of Ann and Darron LaFleur. Logan enjoys playing video games and the guitar. He also he draws and builds with Legos. He is a member of the Robotics Team. Logan hopes to be in a band and after high school he plans to attend the Crane School of Music.

• Erica LaVigne, sophomore, is the daughter of Kat and Doug LaVigne. Erica’s favorite things are ice skating, hanging out with friends and family, and singing. She is involved in this year’s musical. She also is member of Drama Club and Bel Aires. She plans to go to college to become a surgeon.

• Kiera Fetter, junior, is the daughter of Robin and Kent Fetter. Kiera’s interests include playing the piano and traveling. Her favorite subjects are math and science. She is involved in many activities and clubs: Bel Aires, Jazz Band, Drama Club, the Musical, Varsity Club, Whiz Quiz, National Honor Society and Spanish Club. Kiera plans to go college to study math and science.

• Luke Allen, senior, is the son of Stephanie and Jay Allen. Luke is interested in sports and music. A fun fact about Luke is he loves to go wake boarding with is dog! He is a member of National Honor Society and Varsity Club. Luke plays varsity soccer, basketball and baseball. He plans to go to the SUNY College at Brockport for physical education. As a retirement plan, Luke hopes to open a furniture store with his best friend and name their store The Ottoman Empire.

The Norwood-Norfolk PTSA solicits gift cards from local businesses for each student. The businesses that donated are the Hotel Grande and Al Smiths of Norfolk and The Hometown Café and Lobster House of Norwood.

Also, the Teacher’s Association presents the senior student of the month with a gift card to the Clarkson Bookstore.
