Eickhoff was elected at the 147th FASNY Annual Convention held in Syracuse, New York. This is his second time being elected to the Board.

Eickhoff is a 39-year member of the Colton Fire Department and has served as chief and president. He is a life-long member of the Northern New York Volunteer Firemen’s Association, where he serves on numerous committees and as its secretary. Eickhoff is serving his second term as president of the St. Lawrence County Fire Chiefs Association, having previously served as president from 2011-2013. He is currently a member of the Hudson Valley Volunteer Firemen’s Association and is chairman of the Colton Fire District. In 2016, Eickhoff helped form Believe NNY, an organization that provides support to volunteers with life threatening illnesses, and now serves as secretary.

Eickhoff has also been the director of the Colton Hepburn Library for 16 years. He is a charter member of the Colton Historical Society, a charter member of the St. Lawrence Valley Genealogical Society, a Colton Town Historian since 1992, and is an election inspector and chairman of the Town of Colton Democratic Committee. He and his wife Linda have one daughter, Rachel, and a granddaughter Adalynne.

“Being a trustee of the Firemen’s Home is a rewarding way to help others,” said Eickhoff. “I look forward to continuing to oversee the health and wellbeing of my fellow volunteer firefighters.”

The FASNY Firemen’s Home started 100 years ago as a refuge for firefighters in need with no safe place to live, and has become a fully licensed and certified residential healthcare facility. It provides members with rehabilitation and therapy and is well known for nurturing the camaraderie unique to the fire service. The home, in Hudson, N.Y., also serves as the grounds for the Museum of Firefighting as well as the Firefighter’s Memorial. It houses a chapel presenting interdenominational services and opportunity for reflection.
