POTSDAM – Clarkson University announced some faculty promotions and appointments during the fall 2019 semester.
Heather M. Shattuck has been appointed clinical assistant professor of physical therapy. Since 2014, she has been a clinical instructor whose primary teaching responsibilities are in the area of pediatric patient/client management. Shattuck has 20 years of experience as a physical therapist and six years as an adjunct faculty member in the physical therapy program, during which she has served as a tutor, lab assistant, course coordinator and lecturer.
Blair Stein has been appointed assistant professor of history. She received both her Ph.D. and master of arts degrees in history of science, technology and medicine from the University of Oklahoma, her master of arts in history from Queen’s University, and her bachelor of journalism from Carleton University. She is a historian of science and technology, with a particular interest in the intersections between environments, technologies, and identities. She is currently writing a book about how civilian aviation played a role in the establishment, maintenance, and disruption of a modern "envirotechnical" national imaginary in Canada.
