NORWOOD -- The Seaway Career & Technical Education Center has announced that Brooke Taylor is the Potsdam Rotary Club Student of the Month for February 2019.

Brooke is a student in the Education & Human Services Program. She is from the Parishville-Hopkinton Central School District and is the daughter of Jason and Tiffany Taylor.

As a student in Education and Human Services, Brooke has been involved in the lab school where she created and implemented age-appropriate lesson plans while helping maintain a safe and healthy learning environment. She has learned many fundamental theories along with strategies and techniques when working with people of all ages.

Once students are successful in the lab program, students can participate in an internship in the career setting of their choice that may include education, social work, counseling or providing childcare. Students are also offered dual enrollment opportunities.

“Brooke’s outgoing demeanor, passion for children and academics and her overall well-roundedness mark her as a standout student,” said instructor Mrs. Kayla Merchant. “Brooke has been a strong leader always eager to share her knowledge with others and learn new skills. Her cheerful nature and openness to feedback means she is always advancing and growing as a learner, which is an impressive strength that will continue to serve her well in college and beyond. Brooke has always been a dedicated student.”
