Marchers in Potsdam rallied against racism today, walking through town with signs, banners and chanting 'Love, not hate, makes America great,' and 'No hate, no fear, immigrants are welcome here.' Organizer Jennifer Baxtron, who is happy to be called an activist, said with events such as the mass shootings last weekend, 'we refuse to stay silent.' Of President Trump, she said, 'He spreads a lot of hate,' which she said is having an effect on her children. and which she hoped the march would help to counter. Here, the marchers pause at the corner of Market amd Elm streets before walking back to Potsdam High School, where they had begun their walk.
