The Potsdam Humane Society has collected more than 2,500 pairs of shoes- weighing 3,624 pounds for the organization's annual shoe drive. The annual shoe drive is April through June. Shoe counters are Melanie Kingston, Robin Elliot, Bonnie Thurber, Gary Hitchman, Jim Foote, Gary Bartlett, Ed Marney, Jeff Moody, Heather Charleston, Craig Patraw, and staff. 'This year, PHS was extremely fortunate that the ARC-Jefferson-St. Lawrence dedicated their time to sort and count the mountains of donated shoes. With their help, and the generous shoe donations of community members, the shelter was able to raise $1,449.60 for the animals in their care,” according to Alysia M. Maynard of the humane society. 'Potsdam Humane wants to thank the community for their continued support and the great folks at the ARC-Jefferson-St. Lawrence. We could have not have accomplished this without you, and we look forward to it in 2020!'
