Sunday, March 22, 2020 - 8:42 am

The Gateway Museum has announced that the blue herons have returned to their nesting site at the Red Barn Preserve in Morristown, a rookery that has over 60 nests. The birds and their nests are visible from an easy-to-navigate trail not far from the parking area at 518 River Road East. Visitors to the trails are welcome from dawn to sunset every day at no charge. But be warned: the paths can be muddy. Photo submitted by Susan Shelato.
