Stone Church Festival

OGDENSBURG: Annual Stone Church Festival and chicken barbecue, Presbyterian Stone Church, 533 Stone Church Rd.; The New Buckskins from 1-3 p.m.; chicken barbecue 3 p.m., includes Croghan chicken, salt potatoes, baked beans, roll and dessert for $10; children’s games and a Ninja turtle activity; silent auction, 50/50 and hourly prize drawings; vendor and craft fair as well; admission is free.

Depeyster festival

DEPEYSTER: Depeyster’s 31st Annual Festival will be held Friday, July 12 and Saturday, July 13 featuring old fashioned games, vendors, an ice cream social and other activities; DJ music, a fishing grab contest and $2 face painting all day; baby contest staged from 9:30-10 a.m., entry fee is $1; frog jumping contest will be held from 10:30-11:30, contestants should bring their own frog; parade will be staged at noon; 1:30-3:30 p.m. there will be contests in nail driving, cross cut sawing and fry pan throwing; old fashioned games begin at 2 p.m., entry fee is $1; cake walk at 3:30 p.m.; barbecue chicken will be served at 4 p.m.; at 6 p.m. there will be a drawing for a grill and a 50/50, basket raffles will be held and the winner of the fishing contest will be announced; DJ music will continued from 4-8 p.m.; local history presentations in the round hall throughout the day.

Canine good citizen test

Car seat safety

CANTON: St. Lawrence County Traffic Safety Program and certified child passenger safety technicians will offer free car seat inspections and education to parents and caregivers, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Canton Fire Station, 77 Riverside Dr.; will include lessons on how to choose the right car seats for children, install and use them correctly, and register the seats so parents and caregivers will be notified if there is a recall; those who wish to attend the seat check should bring their child in the current car seat, and if they have them, they should also bring both the car seat instruction booklet, and the vehicle owner’s manual; 315-386-2207.
