Piano masterclass
POTSDAM: SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music hosting world-renowned concert pianist Awadagin Pratt for an upcoming performance and masterclass; masterclass with Crane School of Music piano students on Friday, Feb. 28 at 4 p.m., in the Helen M. Hosmer Concert Hall; solo recital on Sunday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the Sara M. Snell Music Theater; will perform Ludwig van Beethoven's "Piano Sonata No. 31, Op. 110," César Franck's "Prelude, Chorale and Fugue," and Franz Liszt's "Piano Sonata in B-Minor;” both events are free, and the public is invited to attend.
One Hour One Work
OGDENSBURG: The Frederic Remington Art Museum invites the public to attend any of four “One Hour One Work” sessions in the month of February. In February, and in honor of Black History Month, the featured artwork will be Frederic Remington’s 1898 ink wash, “Ninth Cavalry Colored Troops on Washing Duty in the Gulf.” The program will be offered on the following dates and times: Wednesday, Feb. 5 at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 13 at 1 p.m.; Thursday, Feb. 20 at 12 p.m.; and Friday, Feb. 28 at 1 p.m. The conversations will be facilitated by Museum educators Kari Terwilliger, Luanne Herzog, Dagmar Jaunzems, and Julie Pratt, respectively.
