Poet Tree

OGDENSBURG: The Friends of the Ogdensburg Public Library invite the public to its first Poet Tree Open Mike on Saturday, April 13 at 5 p.m. at the Ogdensburg Public Library on the 2nd floor in the ballroom. Organizers are looking for local poets to share their works. All poets are welcome, published and unpublished.

Peter Rabbit fest

CANTON: Canton Chamber of Commerce will once again host its annual Peter Rabbit in the Park festival at the Canton Pavilion, 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.; annual Easter Egg Hunt for children 6 and younger, games, face painting, bowling, coloring, a cake walk and other Easter-themed activities; egg hunt starts at noon, prizes available; 315-386-8255, or email cantonchamberny@gmail.com.

Tree pruning workshop

RENSSELEAR FALLS: Fruit tree springtime care: pruning, development and restoration, 9:30 a.m.-noon, Indian Creek Nature Center; program to acquaint the novice as well as the more experienced fruit grower with tree care techniques from the ground up, from pruning and training young plants to renovating old, neglected trees; master gardener Don O’Shea, with decades of experience working with fruit trees, will share information on tree biology, pruning to enhance sound structural growth, fruit production and tree health, tool tips and mistakes to avoid; class is free but pre-registration required (important in case of changes due to bad weather); call Don, 315-393-5137, prior to the program date of April 13; meet at the pavilion, main entrance parking lot of Indian Creek Nature Center.

History Coffee Hour
