POTSDAM: North Country Children’s Museum, 10 Raymond St., will host physicist Dave Bradford with an interactive science program where kids will explore the nature of light; beyond reflection, museum visitors will be guided through hands-on activities that may seem like magic, the bending of light, the colors of the rainbow, disappearing objects, and more, all while learning about the scientific method; for families with children 12 and younger; no pre-registration necessary; free with the cost of admission or membership; 1 p.m.; northcountrychildrensmuseum.org, 315-274-9380.

Rib on a roll

Maple breakfast

WEST STOCKHOLM: West Stockholm Fire Department Auxiliary serving a maple breakfast, 8-11 a.m., at the station; pancakes, French toast, bacon, sausage, orange juice and coffee.
