Constellation stories

POTSDAM: Stories of the Constellations, free planetarium show, shows are held every Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m., in the Dr. Frank A. Revetta Planetarium, located in the basement of Stowell Hall; each show lasts about 45 minutes, and guests of all ages are welcome; attendees are encouraged to arrive early, because once the show begins, the door is locked; no food or drink are allowed in the planetarium, and as darkness is required, cell phones cannot be used during the show; free parking is available in Lot 6, near Kellas Hall.

Graffiti, street art

CANTON: St. Lawrence University First-Year Program “Taking it to the Streets: Art Activism in Graffiti and Street Art” will host a public discussion featuring graffiti writers at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in Griffiths Arts Center, room 123; free and open to the public; Kel 1 from New York City and Seaz (Sterling Downey) from Montreal will discuss their histories and experiences with graffiti over three decades of painting; talk is funded by the Richard F. Brush Art Gallery and the Department of Art and Art History; for more information, contact the Brush Art Gallery at 315-229-5174.

Photo club meets

MASSENA: Nature Photography Club November Meeting, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Nicandri Nature Center, 19 Robinson Bay Rd.; meets monthly to share tips, tricks, techniques and do monthly challenges; join anytime; ages 15 and up, all experience levels welcome; all camera types welcome too; limited equipment available for loan; group will include photo sharing from the previous month's challenge followed by breaking up into smaller groups to take pics, discuss photography concepts, or be part of the monthly lesson.

Big Bingo

MORRISTOWN: Morristown Fire Department’s Big Bingo, doors open at 5:30 p.m., games begin at 7:30; $3,000 in posted prizes which includes two $1,000 games plus two 50/50 games.

Planning Board meets

CANTON: St. Lawrence County Planning Board will meet, 7 p.m., in the second floor conference room at the Public Safety Building 49 ½ Court St.; agenda items include a land use training session with Katie Buck, St. Lawrence Public Interest Corps Summer Intern, focusing on an analysis of the First Time Homebuyers Program; board will also discuss the 2020 Work Program, and any referrals for project reviews brought before the board; Planning Board executive committee will convene Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 4:15 p.m.; next meeting of the full planning board will be Thursday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m.

Cheese sampling

POTSDAM: The Potsdam Food Co-op's Cheese of the Month for November will be from 3:30 - 5:30 p.m., 24 Elm St., attendees have the opportunity to sample Chèvre from Cedar Hedge Farm in Lowville, NY.

Movie Night

OGDENSBURG: Movie Night, 5:30 p.m., Ogdensburg Public Library, 312 Washington St., free, clue: What your toys do when you aren’t home, for the 4th time; PG.

Ten-minute plays

POTSDAM: SUNY Potsdam's Department of Theatre and Dance annual Ten-Minute Play Festival from Nov. 14-16 in the Black Box Theater, located in the College's Performing Arts Center, 7:30 p.m., free and open to the public; some plays contain content which is suitable for mature audiences only; 315-267-2556.

Housing meeting

CANTON: The Canton Housing Authority Board of Directors will hold their next regular monthly meeting 4:30 p.m. in the Boardroom of 37 Riverside Drive; the meeting is open to the public.

Book fair

OGDENSBURG: Collective Goods (formerly known as Books Are Fun) Book & Gift Fair in the Claxton Hepburn Medical Center Auditorium, 8 a.m.-4 p.m., cash, credit cards, checks, postdated checks (up to 3 weeks), and CHMC Quick Charge accepted; portion of the proceeds benefit the CHMC Auxiliary.
