Meat canning class

CANTON: Learn to can a variety of meats, including venison, beef, chicken and pork at the Extension Learning Farm, 2043 State Highway 68, 1-4 p.m. for the class Pressure Canning Meat Demystified; whether you hunt, buy animals by the side, take advantage of a store sale or raise you own livestock, this class is for you; workshop ingredients provided by 8 O’clock Ranch in DeKalb Junction; learn how to maintain pressure canners; sample the recipes as well as take home a jar of finished product; pre-registration required, $20 fee, stlawrence.cce.cornell.edu/, 315-379-9192 ext. 229 or harvestkitchen@cornell.edu.

Poured vinyl records

NORWOOD: Local artist Kris Rozelle holding "Acrylic Poured Vinyl Records" class at Norwood Public Library, noon-2 p.m.; adults and children ages 10-up are invited to learn the techniques of acrylic pouring and torching vinyl records; Kris will demonstrate the "Dirty Pour" method from a cup or using sink strainer methods; materials fee: $25; each student will get a 12-inch record, paints and all other materials required to create one poured record painting in class and set it on fire; come dressed for a mess; register: 315-353-6692.

Genealogy workshop

CANTON: Genealogy workshop with members of the St. Lawrence County Historical Association and the St. Lawrence Valley Genealogical Society, 10 a.m.-noon, Silas Wright House, 3 E.
