Historical open house

Halloween Festival
NORFOLK: Norfolk Halloween Festival, scheduled for Oct. 3-6, will feature live music, fireworks, Halloween candy hunt, rummage sale, carnival games and more; breakfast from 8-11 a.m. at the rescue squad building and an 11 a.m. pumpkin chuckin contest at Haggetts farm.
Octoberfest
MASSENA: Highland Nursing and Rehabilitation, 182 Highland Rd., hosting 1st annual Octoberfest, 12-4 p.m., community invited; free food and drinks catered by Italian Affair available, local band “Playback” providing live music, activities, games, crafts, prizes and face painting available for the kids; adults entered into multiple raffles which include a 50-inch Smart TV, game console, and gift cards from various vendors; rain or shine, tent set up.
Remembrance Walk
HOGANSBURG: Public invited to join local families at the 5th Annual Remembrance Walk hosted at Generations Park, Hogansburgat, 12 p.m.; walk is for parents, families, and friends to remember babies lost due to miscarriage, stillbirth, SIDS, neonatal or any type of infant loss; more information can be found on Facebook at Northern NY Remembrance Walk; free event.
Murder mystery dinner
POTSDAM: Potsdam Public Museum is sponsoring the "Kingsboro Claimant Affair," a dramatic murder mystery dinner theatre to benefit the Potsdam Public Museum; this event, presented by the Dinner Murder Company of the Grasse River Players, will be held at the Mama Lucia's Restaurant, 2 p.m.; participants can interact with members of the Grasse River Players to try to solve the mystery of the crime; admission is $40 per person; dinner choices include spaghetti with meatball and salad, chicken parmesan with pasta, or vegetarian alfredo platter; for reservations, contact the Potsdam Museum at 315-265-6910 by Friday, Oct. 4 at 4 p.m.; two gift cards will be given out to lucky winners chosen at random; info: Fred Rollins at 315-212-9576.
