9/11 ceremony

POTSDAM: The Clarkson University campus community and members of the local community will gather at Clarkson's World Trade Center Memorial Sculpture, 8:25 a.m., for Clarkson's annual 9/11 remembrance ceremony; located across the road from the Rowley Laboratories building; open to the public and members of local rescue squads, fire or police departments, the military, and veterans are invited to attend in uniform; 21-gun salute planned; in the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place in the Student Center forum.

Alzheimer’s support

GOUVERNEUR: Alzheimer’s Association, Central New York Chapter welcomes those impacted by Alzheimer’s disease or another dementia to attend support group, 1:30 p.m., second Wednesday of the month, Gouverneur Community Center, 4673 NYS Route 58.

GOUVERNEUR: St. Lawrence Health System hosting career fair to fill more than 120 positions in clinical and non-clinical fields, 2-6 p.m. at Gouverneur Hospital, East Community Room, 77 W. Free mobile mammography

CANTON: Upstate University Hospital will offer free mobile mammography screenings, Newell Field House, St. Lawrence University; women 40 years and older are eligible to use the van if they have not had a mammogram in the past year and they show no signs or symptoms of breast cancer; pre-registration required; Canton Free Library will host a registration session on Aug. 27, from 1-3 p.m. in the Paige Room; also register by phone, 315-464-2582, online at www.upstate.edu/noexcuses.

Superfund info session
