CANTON – Several local organizations and businesses preemptively plan to close and several events are canceled Friday, Feb. 7 due to the expected storm front.
Canton Central School District, 99 State St., will be closed Friday due to the weather forecast and increasing instances of illness among students and staff, said a press release from the school.
The St. Lawrence Health System has canceled its Wise Community, Wise Choices luncheon, scheduled for Friday in Potsdam, due to the storm warning.
A special presentation by the Census Bureau Partnership on the 2020 Census sponsored by the county’s League of Women Voters and the Unitarian Universalist Church’s Social Action Committee slated for Thrusday, Feb. 6 has been canceled.
The event has been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 13 at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 3 1/2 E Main St., Canton.
The SUNY Potsdam College Council meeting scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, Feb. 7, has been moved to Friday, Feb. 21. The meeting will be held at 10 a.m., in the Raymond Hall seventh floor boardroom, and will stream online.
