CANTON – First-time author and retired teacher June Kelley Pierce, a Waddington native, will discuss and sign copies of her novel, Keeping Secrets, Saturday, Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. at the The Brewer Bookstore at St. Lawrence University.
In the novel, which is based on a true story and set in Northern New York, Pierce writes about two young cousins, bonded together in friendship and forever linked by the physical and emotional trials they suffer in their respective childhoods. Despite its dark side of abuse and betrayal, the novel is also comical at times and tells of survival and the enduring strength of friendship.
Published by iUniverse, the 223-page, hard cover retails for $25.95. The book is also available in a soft cover version for $15.95. It can be purchased from junekelleypierce.com or from your local retailer.
