HERMON -- The St. Lawrence Maple Producers Association will hold its annual tree tapping ceremony on March 14, at 11 a.m. at Woody’s Maple, 418 Underwood Rd.
This family has produced syrup since the 1860’s and is now run by its fifth generation. The family has built a new 3100-square-foot heated sugarhouse.
Although sugaring is well underway, this ceremony represents the official beginning of NY’s first agricultural crop.
The event is open to the public.
