COLTON -- The St. Lawrence County Snowmobile Association (SLCSA) is celebrating its 45th Anniversary Extravaganza with a ride-in barbeque and antique sled show at Racquette Valley Fish and Game, 233 Cold Brook Drive on Trail 8E, on Saturday, Feb. 22 starting at noon.

There will be a chicken barbeque which includes a half chicken, two choices of sides and roll for $10. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be served all day.

Indoor activities will include a DJ, 50/50 raffle, lottery tree raffle, and Chinese raffle with lots of great gift baskets, NYSSA raffle tickets, and a short presentation and pictures at 1 p.m. with special elected official guests.

Playmaker Products will have a table printing tee-shirts, cozies, sweatshirts and hats.

St Lawrence County Trail Groomers are being honored guests for their service.

Outdoor activities will include Colton Fire Department Rescue display, antique sled show, bonfire, tubing on the hill, and snowmobiles set up on a track with cones to navigate around for riders to try snowmobiling first hand.

At 2:30 p.m. we are trying to get as many snowmobiles as we can in the parking lot for a group drone picture of the event.

Introducing snowmobiling to new riders or bringing back to the sport those who have not ridden in a while is the SLCSA’s campaign for the winter of 2020.

About SLCSA

The SLCSA maintains 750 miles of trail and has volunteered its service to local businesses, communities and St Lawrence County for 45 years. Trails are groomed and maintained by the association and ten snowmobile clubs across the county.

SLCSA operates 16 large tracked groomers and three snowmobiles with drags to maintain the trails. The organization has expanded its trail system, added six new bridges, more than 60 culverts where needed, and other improvements.

The money to cover improvements comes from several sources including club memberships, the NYS Trail Fund Grant, club fund raising events, and individual and business sponsors.
