CANTON -- The 2019 Spring Dance Concert will run from April 24 to 27 with show times at 8 p.m. and a final performance on Sunday, April 28, at 6 p.m.

All performances will take place in the Edson R. Miles Black Box Theater and are free and open to the public, although tickets are required due to limited seating.

"Movement Stories" will consist of an array of dance styles – including ballet, modern and jazz. The performances will include a variety of dance arrangements and choreographers done by St. Lawrence students.

“Dance, like all other art, is a way of communicating how you experience the world” says Louise Nielson ’19, one of the student performers. “When I lack the vocabulary to express nuances in my life that there perhaps that aren’t even words for, dance becomes like a compass to help navigate and explain what’s going on.”

This year’s performance will be held in the Black Box Theater, which Nielson believes will help put emphasis on the dances themselves.

The Spring Dance Ensemble Showcase, "Body and Soul," will take place May 1-3 with 8 p.m. showings in the Black Box Theater. Tickets are also required due to limited seating.
