POTSDAM -- Current and potential Special Olympic athletes, volunteers and coaches are invited to Clarkson University to participate in sports clinics conducted by Clarkson University athletes from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 10.
The clinics are open to persons with intellectual disabilities age eight and older and will be held in the IRC field-house building connected to the Alumni Gym on the Clarkson University campus.
Athletes are encouraged to practice and learn about Special Olympic sports the North Country Region participates in on a local level. Sports clinics include soccer, floor hockey, volleyball, basketball, running and ball throws.

Future competitions for athletes for the North Country Region are bowling competitions in Gouverneur on Saturday, Oct. 23, and in Malone on Saturday, Nov. 6, and Sunday, Nov. 7. Games to be held in 2011 include the summer games at SUNY Potsdam in May; softball and soccer at the Malone Memorial park in August; golf and bocce in Malone in September.
