CANTON - "Frederic Remington at SLU" will be presented 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, in Owen D. Young Library at St. Lawrence University.
Mark McMurray, SLU archivist and curator of special collections, will talk on the letters, correspondence and messages from the Remington Collection. Remington Art Museum Curator Laura Foster will present "A Painting at the Center of a Story," about a Remington oil-on-canvas 1901 painting in the university's collection.
Remington was born in Canton and was best known in his time as an illustrator. He also wrote stories and articles for magazines, both fiction and non-fiction.
