POTSDAM -- The Indian Creek Nature Center will present “Spiders of the North Country,” by Dr. John Barthelme, associate professor of St. Lawrence University, Wednesday, April 26, at a dinner meeting at Sergi’s Italian Restaurant.
Dr. Barthelme will present an overview with photos of North Country spiders giving special attention to their diversity, ecology, and mating behavior.
He will also discuss spider evolution and his travels to collect specimens in Zanzibar, Madagascar, Kenya and Morocco, as well the effects of dangerous spider bites.
A reception begins at 5:30 p.m. with a cash bar.
A buffet-style dinner will include antipasto salads, veggie and meat dishes, as well as sides and dessert.
The buffet begins at 6 and the presentation will begin at 7.
The cost is $25 per person.
