Oil Puts the Squeeze on the Economy will be aired on WCKN-TV on Monday, Dec. 26 and Tuesday, Dec. 27 at 7 p.m. Peak Moment TV host Janaia Donaldson revisits author Chris Martenson for his latest take on what may future may hold economically in the final Peak Moment show for 2011.
When last they spoke in early 2010, Chris predicted this current turbulent, troubled global economy in episode 166, "When Exponential Growth Meets Reality." He asserts that we can no longer look at the economy without factoring in the terminal decline of its master resource - oil.
The author of The Crash Course: The Unsustainable Future of Our Economy, Energy and Environment believes that, as "the generation that gets to deal with hitting up to resource limits," we first need a new cultural story to inspire appropriate action.
Chris calls himself a "thrivalist." He encouraged us to get our own house in order well before the cultural tipping point, advising people to invest in energy efficiency in their homes, long-term food storage, buying items your family will need over the next few years.
Personally, he's holding physical gold and silver as alternate currencies.
Chris's website offers a wealth of resources www.chrismartenson.com.
