Opioid Task Force, Partners 4 Substance Use Prevention meeting slated for Oct. 11

CANTON – The next St. Lawrence County’s Opioid Task Force, Partners 4 Substance Use Prevention, meeting is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 11, with a focus on mental health services and gaps within St. Lawrence County.

The meeting will be at 10 a.m. at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott on Route 11.

Topics to be discussed at the meeting will include: defining mental health, current mental health services and gaps in St. Lawrence County, and finalizing the community resource card.

Partners will also ask questions, provide updates, and share events with one another.

St. Lawrence County Partners 4 Substance Use Prevention has been meeting since December 2018.

The goal of each meeting is to:

• Provide education on a relevant topic to assist in spreading information to the county at large;

• Plan and implement activities related to prevention and education, intervention and treatment, and support during recovery; and

• Network and share ideas, events, and resources.

The meetings bring together a variety of individuals including treatment and recovery specialists, educators, health care practitioners, law enforcement, first responders, pharmacists, concerned citizens, and public health officials.

Meetings are held the second Friday morning of each month and are open to all.
