COLTON -- The Town of Colton kicks off its summer schedule of activities with a music performance by Northbound on Wednesday, June 26 from 6-8 p.m. in the Colton-Pierrepont Central School (CPCS) cafeteria.

During the performance a variety of cakes and ice cream will be served by St. Patrick’s – St. Paul’s Altar Rosary Society.

There is no fee to attend the event; however, expenses are being covered through donations, product sales, and summer raffles.

Northbound is composed of six well-known area musicians — Tim Savage, Andy Van Duyne, Michael Welch, Larry Baycura, Chip Lamson, and Don Cannamela.

The group has performed in the North Country for years and brings a blend of music that spans a wide variety of musical tastes.

During the performance four barn quilts, measuring 2-by-2 feet and featuring traditional tree quilt patterns, will be displayed for the first time this summer.

After the performance they will be moved to the Colton Hepburn Library until shown at other upcoming events.

Raffle tickets will be sold at the performance, then at the library and other events.

Only 100 tickets available for each of the four barn quilts; and tickets are just 2 for $5 or 3 for $10. Winning tickets for all four will be drawn at the end of July or possibly sooner if all tickets are sold.

The complete summer schedule is available on the town website (www.townofcolton.com) under News; and updates will be posted on the town’s Facebook page.
