POTSDAM – The New Horizons Band of Northern New York invites adults wishing to learn to play a band instrument to an information and enrollment meeting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, in the Potsdam Civic Center Community Room.
The band, established last September in Potsdam, made its public debut in July in the Potsdam Summer Festival parade with more than 20 adult beginning musicians on board.
New Horizons Music, with over 150 member bands throughout North America, encourages adults who have not played music before, or who put their instruments away long ago, to join in the fun learning or relearning to make music. The Crane School of Music hosts the New Horizons Band of Northern New York, and music education students provide the instruction.
